Driving test for overseas citizens
It is fundamental to drive a motor vehicle legally, when taking up residency in Italy from a non-EU country; the driving licence doesn’t always comply with the regulations of some countries. It’s therefore necessary to apply for an additional licence compatible with the regulations of the country of residence, or even take a new driving test. The language barrier can be detrimental to the results of the test.
The European driving licence is the perfect solution to this problem because it is recognised in every EU country.
Anyone in possession of a driving licence issued by a country outside the European Union is allowed to drive for a short period of time. Eventually, they will be required to apply for an International Driving permit. Alternatively they will need to sit a driving test in Italian.
Our centre offers a Driving Licence course for foreign residents with a basic knowledge of Italian. It’s a course designed to help understanding the theory and the practical test, and familiarising with the technical terms which can be found in the theory and practice test.
Driving Licence course: what is it and what is it for?
It is a course entirely dedicated to learning Italian in order to pass successfully the driving test.
It focuses on the vocabulary and the text formats which are found in the theory exam.
The course aims to cover the following areas: vehicle categories, traffic signs, the highway code, vehicle rules and road safety.
The driving licence course will allow you to do the following:
To achieve a level of Italian necessary to pass the theory test
To become familiar with the instructions found in the theory manuals;
To understand terms and expressions which are essential to formulate questions;
To sit a simulation test that will demonstrate an improved competence in the language;
Beware!
It isn’t a course designed to obtain a driving licence, but a language course to facilitate the comprehension necessary to sit the test.
